If Alvin & the Chipmunks Were Guinea Pigs

Hiiii!! We are the talking guinea pigs. When you hear our group name, you may think “oh, like Alvin and the Chipmunks”, well, actually- no. That is a cross-race effect, we are not Chipmunks, we are not rats, and we are not mice. We are guinea pigs. Yes, we are considered rodents, just like Dave did when he first met the Chipmunks, but we have more of the personality of Mr and Mrs Beaver from The Chronicles of Narnia. We love each other’s company, but we fight like siblings and old married couples. The humans down the street raised us, so the other guinea pigs look at us funny when we set our dinner table at 5:45pm, to eat at 6pm. We try to teach our guinea-pig acquaintances proper table etiquette, but I don’t think I ever get through to them.
Speaking of etiquette, I forgot to introduce the crew. I am Sophia. I am the one with the red skirt wrapped around me. To the right of me is Cayse, Drewlette, and Justin. Justin and Cayse are my twins. On the box, is my husband Drew, and on the floor is our middle child, Voice. I try to keep this family together, but there’s only so much a woman can do on her own. Drew thinks he could run this household, but until someone tries to take our human rights away and he has to prove his male privilege he ain’t have nothing on me.
Through all of our lighthearted family jokes, we love each other on one accord. We protect, and love, and care, and have fun. Within each other we find peace, and I think my kids’ human grandparents raised us all right. We run on prayer, on games, on food, on fun, on stories, on tv. “Oh, mom! Remember when watched movies together last year,” the twins said together every year. The sound of joy, the sound of peace, the sound of laughter, and the sound of unison is the most beautiful sound- to us, and to our human family.
